This photo is very busy and chaotic. There are allot of what could be seen as rocks or pieces of wood and possibly bones which are scattered recklessly on the black floor. I can also make out there is a lot of a flour type powder covering the whole floor and the objects. What I can see from these images I can imply that the photography might be interested in still life photography or taking pictures in the moment and spontaneously. I think the main theme Jaun Orrantia was going for is abstraction within peoples culture and settings as the other images seem to be taken in home-like settings. I believe Jaun Orrantia was trying to capture peoples home environment and how they live in a spontaneous way but keeping it in a still life format. When I view his images I gain a sense of mystery and curiosity as the way Juan Orrantia presents his images are very abstract leaving the viewer to wonder. If I was to describe these images I would so by describing the texture of each object and powder and the every detail of the image in the most depth I can possibly give.
Most of these images seem like they were made in a natural/indoor environment which could reveal this image was taken possibly in a family home or kitchen. When I view this image my overall sense of feeling is a emotion of confusion and curiosity as when I observed this image at first glance it seemed very abnormal and chaotic mainly due to how strange the objects on the floor are as they are not easily recognisable. But it gave me a sense of curiosity as well as it made me want to understand what the objects were or at least try to make out what it is. |
